Here are the top 3 stories today in Oklahoma City:
- A group of veterans is walking 100 miles from Oklahoma City to help raise awareness for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Team Semper Fi, a PTSD veterans awareness support group created by veterans for veterans, is walking the stretch over a four- to five-day period. Others are encouraged to join them on their trek all the way to Lawton this week. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
- Police say an Apple Watch helped save a teenager's life after he fell into a creek in January. 18-year-old Ryan White says he was pinned by a rock in the water and unable to escape when he used the device's voice-activated assistant Siri to call 911. The watch connected White with emergency dispatchers, who were able to ping his location from his watch and send help. (KFOR Oklahoma City)
- The Oklahoma City Council is considering a request to adjust the city's annual water, wastewater, and solid waste rates. Funds raised by the proposed adjusted rate would ensure adequate water supply through 2060, replace aging infrastructure for drinking water and wastewater, and more. If approved, the new rates will take effect on Jun. 1. (Press Release Desk)
