Here are the top 3 stories in Oklahoma City today:

  1. Fire crews battled a fire at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex on Friday morning. Authorities say eight units, including six occupied units, were affected in the fire that broke out at the complex near Northwest 10th Street and Rockwell Avenue. Fire department officials say a cat died in the fire but did not indicate a cause for the blaze. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
  2. The Oklahoma City Utilities Department is encouraging customers to conduct a leak test in their household from March 14-20 for national Fix a Leak Week. The national initiative aims to bring awareness to the amount of water wasted from household leaks, which totals nearly one trillion gallons of water annually. Tips on common household leaks and a sprinkler check-up guide are available on the City's water conservation website. (Press Release Desk)
  3. A Moore man was nearly killed after a fight inside his home led to him being struck by a machete. Police at the scene administered multiple tourniquets to stop the bleeding before the victim, Emilio Garcia, was transported to the ICU at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he has since been released. The suspect responsible, Rex Young, is still at large, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police. (KFOR Oklahoma City)
