Here are the top three stories today in Oklahoma City:
- A STEAM festival for kids is coming to Oklahoma City this month. Designed for kids 4-14, Geekapalooza encourages kids to learn about STEAM topics through hands-on expo booths hosted by local organizations and interactive ongoing workshops about subjects such as robotics, the science of flight, coding, and geoscience. All children are invited to attend the event on Mach 12 at Camp Trivera from 10:00-3:00 p.m. (KFOR Oklahoma City)
- A group hosted its annual prom for chronic patients at Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health. This year's prom, hosted by Child Life and Therapeutic Programs, was adapted to fit a virtual platform so patients in the hospital and at home could join together. Children got to dress up and enjoy the prom, with this year's theme being"Let's Take a Trip Around the World." (KOCO Oklahoma City)
- An Oklahoma City woman busted her dog out of her cage at OKC Animal Welfare, hours away from being euthanized. Hazel the Pitbull was deemed dangerous after she attacked a mail carrier and then a small dog, and was ordered by the court to be euthanized. Police found DNA of Toya Stewart, the dog's owner, on the latch on the dog's kennel and two days later, Stewart was handcuffed and her dog seized. (news9.com KWTV)
