- The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Oklahoma City as a 2021 Tree City USA city for its ongoing commitment to the planting and caring of trees. This is the 17th year Oklahoma City has received the title. In honor of Arbor Day on Apr. 29, the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department also planted three new Bald Cypress trees throughout town. (Press Release Desk)
- Police have released new information regarding a homicide that occurred in northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday night. The victim in the case has been identified as 22-year-old Miguel Alexis Rivera Del Angel. Anyone with information that might help the ongoing investigation is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200. (News On 6)
- Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is waiving adoption fees today in honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. The shelter is currently at 143 percent capacity for dogs and has 167 available for adoption. All adoptable animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and have been treated for worms and spayed or neutered. (Journal Record)
