1. OKC Zoo Announces Birth of Plains Zebra Foal, Lyra (okgazette.com) — The Oklahoma City Zoo just welcomed Lyra, a female Plains zebra foal now exploring the Expedition Africa habitat with her herd. Visitors can see Lyra during regular hours and learn about zebra conservation, as the species is considered near threatened. Families can also pair their visit with the OKC Zoo SAFARI LIGHTS display, running nightly through early January.
   

2. Hip Hop Nutcracker brings a high-energy holiday twist to Oklahoma City this December (news9.com) — A high-energy Hip Hop Nutcracker is coming to Oklahoma City’s Visual & Performing Arts Center Theater December 12–14, blending classical story elements with contemporary hip-hop. Local youth dancers and RACE Collective performers will reimagine the Nutcracker through an urban lens, highlighting themes of love, belonging, and community for families across the city.
   

3. $97M contract awarded for state's longest bridge (kfor.com) — A $97 million contract has been approved for a 1.25‑mile bridge that will link I‑44 and I‑35 near Oklahoma City, crossing the Canadian River between McClain and Cleveland counties. As part of the Access Oklahoma turnpike expansion, construction is expected to start in January or February and could ultimately reshape traffic patterns for Oklahoma City commuters and nearby communities.
   

4. Authorities arrest Carlos Uribe, wanted for Cleveland County kidnapping (journalrecord.com) — Law enforcement arrested a man wanted for a Cleveland County kidnapping in southeast Oklahoma City, following tips generated by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s 10 Most Wanted list. Officials say the joint effort by U.S. Marshals and state agents is helping remove dangerous fugitives from communities across the metro.
   

5. STEM Spotlight: Techlahoma supports Oklahoma's tech community with nearly 9,000 members (koco.com) — A growing nonprofit tech community, Techlahoma, is working to remove barriers for meetups and professional networking in Oklahoma City while connecting nearly 9,000 members statewide. Leaders describe regular networking fairs, training events, and new partnerships with schools and universities aimed at strengthening Oklahoma’s future tech workforce. Locals interested in technology, from beginners to professionals, are encouraged to get involved.
