- One suspect is in custody following an hours-long standoff with police in northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday morning. The incident began around 11 p.m. on Monday evening when police say the suspect shot his dog while holding a family member hostage. Law enforcement took the suspect into custody around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday without injuries to anyone involved. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
- The Oklahoma City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday that will allow residents to raise up to a total of six chickens or quails in their backyard. The vote in favor of urban chickens and quails follows more than seven years of debate and will require animal owners to follow strict guidelines. The new ordinance goes into effect on Mar. 4. - Oklahoma County Commissioners extended the county's burn ban by 14 days in a vote on Monday. According to the director of the Oklahoma County Office of Emergency Management, the burn ban is still needed due to dry conditions and high fire danger.
