Here are the top three stories today in Tulsa:

  1. Yale Avenue from 81st to 91st Streets will be closed for about four months as the city continues working to widen the road and make it safer for motorists and pedestrians alike. The mile-long stretch of road will be widened from two lanes to six in keeping with the rest of Yale Avenue from Interstate 44 to the Creek Turnpike. Sidewalks will be added to both sides of the street, along with landscaping to separate pedestrians from vehicle traffic and a concrete, landscaped center median with left-turn bays. (Tulsa World)
  2. Tulsa police say a woman was shot in her foot near 61st and Peoria on Saturday night; she was taken to the hospital and is expected to be fine. Officers collected evidence and video of the shooting at the scene. Investigators say the video shows a Black man wearing a red shirt running from the scene before police got there. (KTUL)
  3. The Postal Service and AAA hosted a passport fair Saturday afternoon for people looking to get a new one ahead of this summer. People were able to sign up online for a time slot. Those who stopped by on Saturday said it was important for them to get their passports as travel starts to ramp up again. (News On 6)
