  1. Tulsa’s Route 66 Village is giving Green Country a first-look at its new facility. On Saturday, the doors were open at the Red Fork Depot, offering a look inside the new event center. The space is available for weddings, parties, showers, and also holds a chef’s kitchen. (KOKI FOX 23 TULSA)
  2. Tulsa police took a man into custody Friday night after they said he led them on a short chase. The man abandoned the car around 11 p.m. Friday near 49th West Avenue and West 61st Street. Police used a K9 unit and helicopters to find the suspect, and have not said why they were chasing him. (News On 6)
  3. A teenager, Jermelvin Galloway, is facing several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon. According to Tulsa police, Galloway was involved in a car crash and shot at someone during an argument over who caused the car accident. The suspect reportedly went to his home, got a gun, and shot at someone who came to support the other driver. No one was hurt. (KOKI FOX 23 TULSA)
  4. Afghan refugees who are starting new lives in Tulsa will soon have more options for getting around. Officials announced recently that some of the short- and longer-term transportation needs of refugees will be addressed through a $150,000 grant from Open Society Foundations. The grant, administered by the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity, will fund the costs of driver’s education, contextualized English classes, and preparation and fees, including the translation of materials, for up to 50 individuals.
