Here are the top four stories today in Tulsa:
- A local group, SHOTS Tulsa, is stepping up to help addicts fight and manage their addictions while keeping dangerous needles off the streets in the process. In exchange for used syringes, they can not only provide people with clean ones, but also injection alternatives, and opioid overdose reversal drugs, to help manage their addiction as they battle it. They’d already helped a lot of people just a couple of hours into their recent collection event at Cox Media Group Tulsa’s Big Spring Cleanup on Saturday. (KOKI FOX 23 TULSA)
- The Tulsa World Media Co. is hosting the Tulsa World Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. It is free and open to the public. More than 60 employers with jobs to fill will be in attendance. They are hiring for customer service, sales, manufacturing, administrative, trucking, and more. (Tulsa World)
- The Tulsa community has come together once again to support those in Ukraine fighting for their lives. The Solidarity With Ukraine rally brought around 100 people to John Hope Reconciliation Park on Saturday afternoon. The rally wasn’t one of sadness or defeat, but of hope, empowerment, and positivity. (news9.com KWTV)
- Tulsa police are investigating after they said a driver hit two police cars and the officer shot the driver on Saturday. The scene began when a 65-year-old man was allegedly driving recklessly in downtown Tulsa. Police said he was speeding, then breaking before hitting a police cruiser, and then police met the driver near 40th and Charles Page, where he hit another cruiser again. His actions caused the officer to shoot him; the driver was in critical condition when he was taken from the scene in an ambulance. (News On 6)
