Here are the top four stories today in Tulsa:

  1. Area governments took a concrete step to assess the possibility of constructing a toll bridge over the Arkansas River in south Tulsa. Five government entities — Bixby, Jenks, Tulsa, Tulsa County, and the Muscogee Nation — are contributing $6,000 each toward the effort. The Indian Nations Council of Governments’ Board of Directors will hire CDM Smith Associates to conduct a traffic impact study and a high-level revenue estimate for the bridge. According to the meeting agenda, the toll bridge would be built across the Arkansas River "at or near 131st Street in Jenks to connect with a future extension of Riverside Drive in Tulsa." (Tulsa World)
  2. Police are investigating a suspected drive-by shooting that injured a woman at a Tulsa house. According to officials, one of the shots went through the window of the house and hit the victim; she was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. (News On 6)
  3. On Friday night, police were called to Waterside Apartments about a shooting that killed a Black man in his 20's. Police are still investigating and searching for the suspect. No information has been released as to the events that lead up to the shooting or how the victim and the suspect knew each other. (KOKI FOX 23)
  4. The final group of Afghan refugees coming to Green Country have arrived in Tulsa. Volunteers with Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma welcomed them at the airport on Feb. 18. The volunteers had snacks and translators ready to make the handful of refugees feel welcome. (News On 6)
