Here are the top three stories in Tulsa today:

  1. On Thursday, Tulsa will be recognized for its efforts in flood mitigation and prevention. Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum will join officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a ceremony at the Centennial Center in Veterans Park to celebrate Tulsa’s promotion to Class 1 in the National Flood Insurance Program. Class 1 is the highest possible ranking in the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System, and Tulsa is one of only two cities in the country to achieve this rating. (KRMG)
  2. Beginning June 2, Breeze Airways will begin offering nonstop flights from Tulsa to Nashville. The flights will travel to the Nashville International Airport and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, with ticket prices starting at $49. This latest addition marks the 25th nonstop destination from Tulsa International Airport (TIA). (KRMG)
  3. A Tulsa radio station celebrated International Women’s Day yesterday with nonstop music from female artists. On Tuesday, Mix 96.5 launched its International Women’s Day Celebration during the KC in the Morning show.
