Gresham 'Execution-Style' Drug Murder Results In Five Arrests
Gresham Police arrest five in what they say was the "execution-style" murder of Andrew Sherrell in September.
GRESHAM, OR — When Gresham detectives arrived on the 18900 block of NE Portal Way on September 24, it was very apparent that someone had been very unhappy with something they thought that Andrew Sherell had done. The 35-year-old from Bend had been dumped in an industrial area, his arms bound. He had one gunshot wound to his head.
He was dead. The murder was an execution, they said.
Five people are now under arrest, charged with kidnapping and murdering Sherrell.

Officials say that Sherrell had been selling drugs, moving between Bend and the Portland area. They add that Sherrell had accumulated a large debt while doing business, one that he either wouldn't – or couldn't – pay.
Police say that the night of the 24th, the five people had found Sherrell in downtown Portland. They pulled him off the street and into a vehicle. Sherrell was driven to the street in Gresham where he – already bound – was shot and dumped on the street.
