OSAA shuffles the deck – slightly – for 2026-27 (lakeoswegoreview.com) — Hillsboro High will compete in the Northwest Oregon Conference in 2026-27 alongside Aloha, Canby, La Salle, Liberty, Wilsonville, and Woodburn as part of OSAA’s latest realignment. Several big schools, including Aloha and Liberty, are dropping from 6A to 5A, while others shift into new or hybrid leagues, reshaping travel and rivalries statewide. 
2. Hillsboro Homicide Investigation Leads To Arrest (freedom970.com) — Hillsboro police have arrested a 32-year-old man after a deadly shooting that left a 41-year-old victim in a car outside a home near SE Tualatin Valley Highway and SE 18th Avenue. Officers tracked the suspect across multiple Hillsboro locations, finally stopping his vehicle near South Meadows Middle School and booking him into Washington County Jail as the homicide investigation continues.
3. Hillsboro Community Foundation Has Big Impact Year In 2025 And You Can Help In 2026 (hillsboroherald.com) — Hillsboro residents are being urged to support the Hillsboro Community Foundation after a standout 2025, when it distributed more than $660,000 in local grants, scholarships, and community projects. From the all-inclusive playground at Hidden Creek to senior services and youth sports, the foundation backs many Hillsboro programs, and locals can nominate impactful organizations or donate for 2025 tax benefits and beyond.
4. Carpenter Media Group top stories of 2025 statewide (madraspioneer.com) — Hillsboro’s tech economy took a hit in 2025 when Edwards Vacuum announced 128 layoffs and the closure of its Hillsboro production facility near Intel, adding to local semiconductor job losses. That story topped a statewide roundup that also includes major protests against Trump, a Lake Oswego lake-access ruling, an ICE detention case, and an FBI fraud indictment in Southern Oregon.
