Here are the top three stories in Portland today:
- Organizers of the upcoming 2023 Shamrock Run Portland on Sunday said that they are expecting more than 20,000 attendees and warned the public to plan for road closures in downtown Portland. Roads will begin closing at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday with the first race of the day scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Click the link to view the scheduled road closures to plan accordingly. (KATU)
- The FBI is offering two $25,000 awards for information leading to the arrest of the individuals who shot at two electrical substations in November. The high-voltage substations located outside Olympia and Portland both suffered what officials said was significant damage to expensive equipment and are only two of at least 15 attacks on substations in the Northwest that took place in 2022. (Oregon Public Broadcasting)
- The Academy Awards are scheduled for Sunday evening, and Portland's ShadowMachine animation studio will be part of the awards ceremony for the first time as the animation studio behind Oscar-nominated "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio." The movie, which the Northwest Portland studio worked on for two years, has been nominated for Best Animated Feature Film. Studio members talked about the process and the details that went into creating the movie, which has already won multiple industry awards, including a Golden Glove Award and a BAFTA award. (KATU)

- Portland's oldest Irish bar, Paddy's Bar & Grill, is once again going to attempt to make the world's largest Irish coffee during its upcoming 14th annual St. Patrick's Day Festival on Friday, Mar. 17. To claim the Guinness World Record, the bar will need to brew a 264-gallon Irish coffee made of 165 gallons of coffee, 50 gallons of whiskey, 25 gallons of simple syrup, and 25 gallons of heavy whipped cream. - A new vegan bakery is coming to Portland this fall. Orange & Blossom will offer a rotating dessert menu at its new location on Northeast 16th and Killingsworth starting in late September. (Eater Portland)
- In honor of the upcoming Academy Awards this weekend and a Best Animated Feature nomination for the locally-made movie "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio," the Portland Art Museum is offering a limited-time membership special.
