Portland man, 74, dies from injuries sustained in September TriMet bus crash (kgw.com) — A 74-year-old Portland man has died from injuries suffered when a TriMet bus hit him in Northeast Portland back on September 19, police announced this week. Investigators say his condition initially appeared non-life-threatening, and they’re now asking anyone who witnessed the crash near Northeast 16th and Sandy to contact PPB’s Traffic Investigations Unit.

Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects, P.C. recognized with the 2025 IIDA Healthcare Design Award : NEREJ (nerej.com) — A Portland senior living campus is getting national attention, as Madrona Grove at Rose Villa in Portland helped Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects earn a 2025 IIDA Healthcare Design Award. Working with Portland-based Scott Edwards Architecture, the project created a homelike skilled nursing and residential care environment with 32 private rooms and household-style common spaces focused on dignity and wellness.
   

3. Active Keizer woman approaches 100 (keizertimes.com) — A Keizer woman who grew up in Portland’s shipyard era is about to celebrate her 100th birthday, still staying active with walks and games. Her life story traces a move from Dust Bowl–era Nebraska to Portland, wartime work in local shipyards, and raising a family whose next generations still call Portland home.
   

4. Federal judge considers restrictions on ICE detainee transport out of Oregon (kptv.com) — A federal judge in Portland is weighing whether to block ICE from moving immigration detainees out of Oregon before they’ve had a real chance to meet with a lawyer. Local legal advocacy groups say ICE has made attorney access difficult or impossible at Oregon field offices, and the judge could soon issue an injunction changing how detainees are transported.
   

5. Wieden+Kennedy Portland President is Stepping Down (wweek.com) — Portlanders connected to the creative and advertising world may want to note that Jason White is stepping down as president of Wieden+Kennedy’s Portland office. The longtime agency leader, who returned after cofounder Dan Wieden’s death, leaves amid ongoing challenges for the globally known firm, which recently cut about 20% of its Portland staff.
