Here are the top three stories today in Portland:

  1. The Portland International Airport and ZGF Architects have released renderings of the new main airport terminal that is planned for completion in 2025. The concept renderings show a preview of the check-in area, a place called The Gardens that shows clusters of trees near the pre-security shopping area, and waiting areas that feature the iconic carpet from the old airport. (KGW.com)
  2. The Barbara Walker Crossing pedestrian bridge and the surrounding area on the Wildwood Trail will be closed from Monday, Apr. 3 through May 25. Portland Parks & Recreation will be conducting an improvement project on the bridge and the trail area to make the northern approach more stable and weather resistant. Since it was built in 2020, the bridge has been damaged by winter storms and slide activity that closed it for several months at one point in January 2021. (OregonLive)
  3. Compound Gallery officially closed its doors on Friday, Mar. 31 after being a mainstay in the Portland community for sneakers and streetwear for the last 21 years. In the announcement of its closure released earlier this month, the brand said, "It’s challenging to find the words to express how grateful we are, how much we’ve appreciated being able to serve the Portland community for the past 21 years, and the impact that so many of you have had on our lives."
