2 Suspects Nabbed For Vehicle Break-Ins In Abington: PD

Abington Police are investigating numerous vehicle break-ins between Moreland Road and Phipps Avenue.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Abington Police have arrested two people for vehicle break-ins in the township that were captured on Ring cameras.

Abington Police responded at 2:48 a.m. Thursday to the 1800 block of Preston Avenue, following a report of individuals attempting to steal from vehicles.

During a check of the area, police officers found numerous vehicles had been broken into between Moreland Road and Phipps Avenue.

Police said it appeared that someone tried to steal one vehicle, but couldn't operate the manual transmission.

Ring camera footage located by police led to a traffic stop of two people along Moreland Road.

They were found in possession of identifiable items taken from multiple vehicles in the area, including a loaded 9mm Springfield Hellcat pistol, police said.

Both were arrested and transported to the Abington Police Department for arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
