A Commissioners Meeting, and a Walk with a Commissioner, This Week
Check out a few events happening this week in Abington.

The Ruth and Robert Abel Memorial Book and Film Discussion Group will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Abington Free Library. The group will discuss “Maus” by Art Spiegelman, the story of Vladek Spiegelman, a Jewish survivor of Hitler’s Europe, and his son, a cartoonist. For more information on the event, click here.
Karen Weekes, an Associate Professor of English at Penn State University, will lead the discussion.

On Sunday, May 12, the Adult Choir of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will present J.S. Bach’s Cantata No. 37, Wer da gläubet und getauft wird (Whoever believes and is baptized shall be blessed), for both the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services. Bach composed this work for the Feast of the Ascension in 1723.

Briar Bush Nature Center staff will join Abington Commissioner Stephen Kalinoski for a walk in Penbryn Park on Saturday, May 11 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Learn some interesting facts about the North Hills area while walking through the park with life-long resident Kalinoski.
