ABINGTON, PA — An Abington High School senior has been named Student of the Month at the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology.

"Lorrraine works hard in class and has an impressive work ethic," Mark Zaslavsky, Protective Services instructor at Eastern, said in a statement. "She is a dynamic, dedicated leader, who sets the highest examples for peers, and leads by example."

Praeger has long been interested in protective services organizations, and as a high school sophomore attended Eastern's open house to see if the center had any programs that would best fit her educational goals.
She ended up finding the Protective Services program to closely align with her interests, which center around law enforcement and related fields.
According to a bio provided by Eastern, Praeger has been an active member of the Girl Scouts since 2016, where she has attained the second highest award in the organization, the Silver Award; she has been a member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps since 2018; and she has been involved with the Abington Police Explorers since 2018.
The Student of the Month award is sponsored by the faculty at the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology along with the Joint Operating Committee and the Willow Grove Rotary Club.
The recognition is designed to highlight student excellence, success and service, and a total of 10 students each year are selected for the honor, to coincide with the yearly school calendar.
