Alleged DUI-Related Crash in Abington
The crash happened near the high school on Canterbury Road.

A Jenkintown man was arrested after he allegedly crashed into a parked car in a neighborhood near the high school.
Abington Police arrested Joseph Wilkerson, 29, of Highland Avenue, Jenkintown, early last month after he allegedly crashed the Jeep Laredo he was driving into a parked vehicle on Canterbury Road near the corner of Hemlock Circle shortly after 4 a.m. on May 4.

According to police, Wilkerson had slow speech and movements and was unable to stand up without stumbling. He also kept falling asleep, police said.
Wilkerson was in possession of a glass jar containing suspected codeine, for which he had no prescription, police said; his blood tested positive for the presence of alprazolam, Delta-9 THC and oxycodone. He was arrested and charged with DUI, careless driving and possession of a controlled substance.
