Assistant Fire Marshal Under Investigation In Cheltenham
Cheltenham officials said the investigation comes from an alleged sexual assault in Bucks County last week, according to reports.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The township is investigating its assistant fire marshal after he was charged with numerous charges, including an alleged sexual assault, according to reports.
"We are aware of the recent arrest of the township’s Assistant Fire Marshal/Code Enforcement Officer, and the township will cooperate fully with law enforcement, as needed. The township is also conducting an investigation and will provide no further comment at this time," Township Manager Alyson Elliott said in a statement.
Albert Sergio Jr., 59, of Souderton, faces several charges connected to an alleged sexual assault, threats of rape, and a burglary investigation, Action News 6 reported.

Police say they were called to a home in Souderton last week. The criminal complaint alleges Sergio tried to rape the female victim known to him soon after she exited the shower.
When she retreated to the bathroom, court documents state Sergio forced his way inside, all the while threatening the victim with a knife, Action News reported.
