Board Honors Deputy Chief, Detective

The Abington Board of Commissioners on Thursday night honored Detective Sgt. Steve Fink and Deputy Chief John Livingood with Class III Commendations for their respective roles in arresting a northeast Philadelphia man allegedly involved in 30 burglaries.

Abington was part of a multi-agency taskforce that helped arrest Derrick Carter, of the 4600 block of Sheffield Avenue. Livingood thanked the Upper Dublin Police Department as well as the Pennsylvania State Police.

According to Livingood, Carter burglarized residential properties in the daytime, prying in the front or rear door usually. He took jewelry and electronics, including TVs and likely acted with at least one accomplice.
