Election 2025: Abington School Board Candidates Revealed
Residents will also vote on a special ballot question in the May 20 primary election for a new middle school.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The school board candidates running in the upcoming primary election may have to take a back seat to a special referendum that will also be on the ballot.
Plans for a new $285 million middle school are going before eligible voters in Abington Township and the Borough of Rockledge in the May 20 primary election.
After years of debate and surveys, the board decided that a new Abington Middle School to replace the current Abington Middle School in the same space was the best way to go.

Meanwhile, the Montgomery County Board of Elections has released its unofficial list of candidates running for the school board in Abington Township for four, four-year school director terms.
Republican Joseph Rooney, who lost in a November general election challenge to state Rep. Ben Sanchez, is also on the ballot.

During primary elections, voters choose their candidates for the Democratic and Republican parties, but many school board races feature candidates cross-filing for positions.
