Fall is in full swing at Meadowbrook Farm.

The festival includes a sale, children’s activities and live demonstrations.

The sale will feature beautiful plants for fall landscapes, including one-of-a-kind combination planters, spring bulbs, and vibrant violas, kale, cabbage and broccoli choices for autumn displays. Gorgeous mums in red, orange, yellow, bronze and purple will also be available alongside unique varieties of fairytale pumpkins, black acorn and carnival squash, gooseneck gourds, and mini pumpkins. The Meadowbrook gift shop will also have great seasonal shopping for home décor and garden accessories, including garden gear and tools. Live music, cooking demonstrations in the vegetable garden, food trucks, and tours of the home and property will round out the day.

The Fall Open House will also be a spectacular day for kids. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. children are invited for a series of special activities including face painting, gourd bowling, hayrides, scavenger hunts, and the always popular pumpkin launching.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will also welcome Meadowbrook Farm Director Chris Woods. Woods, who served as executive director and chief garden designer at Chanticleer for 20 years, is a longtime friend of PHS who has been a consultant on flower show exhibits, gold medal plants and other programs. Woods will focus on making Meadowbrook a showcase of excellent design and sustainable gardening and a destination for the region's best plants and products.

Meadowbrook Farm is the former estate of renowned florist J. Liddon Pennock, who served as president of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. The 1930s stone house, grounds and garden center became an affiliate of PHS in 2004 and provides the finest examples of plants, trees, gifts and horticultural products.
