Glenside’s the Place for Cheap Prom Gowns
New and gently used prom and other special event gowns will be available for $10 and $20 in Glenside, with proceeds benefitting Hatboro-Horsham High School's Post-Prom.

Can you imagine outfitting a six-member wedding party with gowns for under $200? What about buying a brand-new prom gown–with tags still attached–for $20? Both happened during last year's prom dress sale to benefit Hatboro-Horsham High School's Post-Prom, according to Kathleen Mellett, an event organizer.
"Not only did we sell for prom, but also eighth-grade graduations, banquets, beauty pageants, a 'Trash the Dress' photo shoot and just about any dressy event you can think of," Mellett said. "Many of our customers stated that they simply could not afford to buy a new prom dress and were happy to have this alternative."

The cost-cutting dress-buying alternative will return to Mellett's husband's business, U-Save Auto Rental showroom, 758 N. Easton Road in Glenside beginning Saturday and continuing through March 23. The week-long sale features more than 200 new and gently worn dresses in all sizes and styles, including more than 50 brand-new dresses donated by Arielle Bridal in Ambler. Dresses are priced at $10 and $20 and various accessories are also available for purchase, according to organizers.
"We have so many brand-new prom dresses that people have donated to our sale," Hatboro-Horsham Post-Prom Co-Chair Helen Falguera said. "We've had people who have been to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s who bought dresses and donated them to us."
