Montco Man Earned Insurance Commissions By Doctoring Policies, AG Says. Find Out How Much

A Glenside man fabricated the policies to earn $603,000 in sales commissions, the state Attorney General said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The state Attorney General has charged a Montgomery County man with forging information on hundreds of life insurance policies that led to him earning more than $600,000 in a sales commissions scheme.

Dennis Wright, 42, of Glenside, was charged Monday morning with felony theft by deception, identity theft, insurance fraud, and related offenses. Wright was arraigned with bail set at $100,000, Attorney General Dave Sunday said.

“This defendant betrayed clients and dishonored his position to line his own pockets when he was trusted to make insurance arrangements that would have provided peace of mind and financial security for Pennsylvanians,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Insurance fraud is far from a victimless crime, and my office takes it very seriously.”

Wright exploited his licensed life insurance agent position to defraud provider National Guardian Life Insurance (NGL) between June 2020 and February 2022, according to the Office of Attorney General investigation.

Wright created 332 fraudulent life insurance policies by forging personal information and signatures — without those individuals’ knowledge or consent — to obtain sales commissions.
