Jenkintown Police Have Arrested Two Individuals For Assaulting A Woman In Her Car

The assault, which occurred last week, was caught on video. It showed a woman being beaten both outside and inside her vehicle.

JENKINTOWN, PA — Local police have arrested two individuals they say beat a woman unconscious both outside and inside of her vehicle during a road rage incident on York Road that was caught on video.

Charles Clifton Woodson, 37, and September Leo Wingfield, 25 are accused of beating a woman during what authorities called a brutal road rage incident on Dec. 16 along York Road, an attack that was filmed by a bystander and forwarded to police.

In the video, the male suspect kicks the victim's head while the female suspect is seen stomping on her.

Records from Magisterial District Court show that the pair were taken to county jail for failing to post bail.

Each is being charged with felony-grade aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Woodson also faces numerous summary offenses for driving infractions.

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for both Woodson and Wingfield for Dec. 30 before Magisterial District Judge Christopher Cerski.

Both individuals are from the Holmesburg neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia.

Police have not yet released any other information relating to the motive behind the assault other than to classify it as a case of road rage.
