
Kevin Lynch is the January 2013 Student of the Month at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology in Willow Grove. He is in his second year of Eastern’s protective services program and a senior at Jenkintown High School.
At Eastern, Lynch maintains high grades and perfect attendance in his protective services program. He is involved in SkillsUSA as the 2012-13 SkillsUSA Protective Services Class President. SkillsUSA is a national student organization promoting good citizenship, student leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and recognizes student achievement and excellence.

Lynch comes from a family of Eastern graduates, including his father and brother. At Eastern, Lynch is currently the student representative for the protective services program’s Occupational Advisory Committee. For the past two years, Lynch has been a student presenter at Jenkintown High School for Eastern’s Career Expo presentation, in which he discussed the specifics of his program to tenth and eleventh grade students. Through Eastern’s protective services program, Lynch has achieved his National Fire Protection Agency Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification.
At Jenkintown High School, he is a member of the Varsity Football Team. Lynch also completed 40 hours of community service with the Jenkintown Music Theatre as a member of the stage crew.

“Kevin is very focused and driven,” Walt Kenney, Eastern protective services instructor, said. “He takes pride in his work and has proven himself to be a leader in the classroom. I have no doubt he will accomplish all he sets out to achieve.”
After graduation from Eastern and Jenkintown High School, Lynch said he plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Lynch plans to make the Marines his career, and hopes to achieve Officer ranking.
Eastern’s faculty, joint committee and the Willow Grove Rotary Club sponsor the Student of the Month Award to highlight student excellence, success and service.
