EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The June Fete Fair — which was held for 111 consecutive years before being canceled last year — is back.

The Abington Health Foundation Women’s Board, which runs the event, scrapped the annual festival for safety reasons.

"We're back," the board said. "Our old-fashioned country fair is a 100+ year tradition and features amusement rides, carnival games, live entertainment, delicious festival foods and treats, and vendors for shopping."

All funds raised support the Durham Fund for Nurse Wellness at Jefferson Abington Hospital.

The board said that the event could not take place because Upper Moreland Township denied the June Fete Fair's permit applications due to "the township’s current safety and security concerns related to numerous local events."

The fair has taken place in Montgomery County since 1913.

The turnout in 2023 was nearly 20,000 people. That year, the fair raised $107,000 to support Jefferson Abington Hospital.
