Keswick Distillery Update
GG, the former Glenside brewery, is still moving across the street.
Though the awning suggests it’s a chiropractic office, the building at 277 Keswick Ave. is currently being prepped to relax visitors in another way.
A bar is moving in, which is evident by the two signs (the company-produced sign and the familiar, state-issued orange one) but it didn’t come from very far away.
GG Brewers Brewing Co. is changing its name and moving across the street. Its new name will be Sir Winston’s Pub. In addition to the name change, the pub also added a distillery license to its credentials.

Gwynne D’Amico, who is the second “G” in “GG,” said her boyfriend owns the company — and it’s slated to open in autumn.
“It’s always fun dealing with the township and getting permits and electricians and plumbers to show up,” she said jokingly, “but it should be open at least by the fall.

Once the construction gets done, we have to brew the beer.”
And the beer was pretty popular across the street. According to D’Amico, “GG’s” had a solid clientele at its other Keswick Avenue location. But problems with their landlord and size restrictions forced them to move in February.
“We needed a bigger spot, and a bigger basement for a distillery and a brewery,” she said. “We’re kind of going for a Prohibition-era theme — a speakeasy style pub.”
To add to the authenticity, D’Amico said her boyfriend (the other “G”), Gerome Martin, is looking to make seven different liquors in-house, including vodka, rum, gin and bourbon. There will also be a half-dozen original beers on tap.
“We’ve always been a full-service venue, with drinks and food,” D’Amico said. “People were receptive [to the former location] and we had a great following with a lot of return visitors and we got a lot of the theater crowd. We even had a lot of the performers coming in. We hope Sir Winston’s stays as popular.”
There’s no word on whether there will be a large switch to convert the bar to a pet store, or something, should the police stop by.
Sir Winston’s Pub will be located at 277 Keswick Ave., Glenside.
