Local Businesses Donate to July 4 Festivities

The Greater Glenside Patriotic Association's July 4 celebration is just about a month away.

Two businesses are helping to cover the cost of the Greater Glenside Independence Day celebration.

For the second year, Fitzgerald’s Tire and Auto Center, at the corner of Easton and Jenkintown roads, will donate $5 for each tire purchased during June to the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association.

And, for the third year, Riviera Restaurant and Pizzeria, at the corner of Easton and Bradfield roads, will donate $1 for each pizza sold during June.

This year marks the 110th annual Fourth of July Parade. Festivities start at 10 a.m. with a children’s program at Cheltenham’s Renninger Memorial Park, at Keswick Avenue and Waverly Road, followed by the parade at 4 p.m. and a fireworks display at the high school at 9 p.m.

The nonprofit Greater Glenside Patriotic Association makes the parade happen; the cost to put on the parade is roughly $55,000.
