Longtime Police Officer And His K9 Retire In Cheltenham
Cheltenham Police honored Officer Ed Farrell for 26 years on the force and K9 Dylan for serving nine years with him.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —They are retiring with grace and honor, a police officer and his faithful companion.
The Cheltenham Township Police Department recently congratulated Police Officer Ed Farrell and his K-9 partner, Dylan, on their recent retirements.
Farrell served 26 years on the police force while K-9 Dylan served alongside him for the past nine years.

Farrell began his career as a Patrol Officer in 1999 and over the years has served as a K-9 Officer, Eastern Montgomery County SWAT Hostage Negotiator, and EVOC Instructor.
He received numerous departmental commendations and official letters in recognition of his outstanding police service including a Citation for Bravery in 2004 and a Service Ribbon for his deployment to Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"We wish Ed a long and happy retirement and congratulate him on a stellar career," the police department said. "Dylan, thank you for protecting your partner and the rest of the officers who served alongside you. (May you have plenty of belly rubs and treats!) Job well done, congratulations, and good luck on the next chapter."
