Montco Police Dept. Mourns Loss Of Public Safety Communicator
Chris Tanczos, who passed away this week, worked as the public safety communicator for the Abington Township Police Department for 10 years.
ABINGTON, PA — The Abington Township Police community is mourning the loss of a department civilian employee.
The department on Friday announced the sudden passing of Chris Tanczos, who served as the agency's public safety communicator.
Tanczos worked with the police department for the past 10 years.

He was also a fire police lieutenant and a life active member of the Wissahickon Fire Company, according to a social media post reporting the untimely passing.
"Chris was respected for his outstanding work ethic and his wonderful sense of humor," the police department stated on Facebook. "He will be missed by all."

The department asked the community to keep Tanczos and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
A cause of death was not offered, and no funeral information appeared to be available at the time of the publication of this story.
