Obituary: Jean Nicholson
Nicholson was involved in the Abington, Hatboro and Willow Grove communities.

Jean (Billman) Nicholson, of Warminster, died Sunday, Oct. 14. She was 88.
Nicholson was the last survivor of seven children. She grew up in the lower East Falls section of Philadelphia.

She graduated from Germantown High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her future husband, the late Charles G. Nicholson.
Nicholson was involved in the Willow Grove and Hatboro communities where her husband served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 1960s. She served as president in the Women’s Auxiliary for Abington Memorial Hospital and sang for many years in the Abington Choral Club, where she also served as president.

Nicholson worked as a legal secretary before her children were born and later served as executive secretary to the president of Acme Markets.
Nicholson and her husband were long-time summer residents of Stone Harbor, N.J.
She is survived by two sons, Craig Nicholson and his wife Carole, and Bruce Nicholson and his wife Linda; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road, Abington. Interment will be private in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in Jean Nicholson’s name to NH Ventures, a nonprofit social club serving the needs of adults with high functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, 127 Holly Drive, Lansdale, Pa. 19446.
