Find Out Why Person Was Armed With Knife In Cheltenham

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cheltenham Township Police Department has defused a situation where someone was armed with a knife.

Cheltenham Police responded Monday afternoon to the 100 block of Webster Avenue for a person armed with a knife.

Police said the person was experiencing a presumed mental health crisis.

Police officers were able to successfully de-escalate the situation, take the person into custody, and transport them to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

There were no injuries, and there was no danger to the public, police said.
