Power Outage Closes Cheltenham High School
Cheltenham officials said the power outage happened Friday morning as buses were taking students to the high school.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A power outage happened at Cheltenham High School Friday morning just as buses were taking students to school, officials said.
Officials said the high school experienced a power outage at 6:15 a.m. Friday.
At the time the outage occurred, transportation had already departed the bus depot, so buses were rerouted to drop students off at Cedarbrook Middle School.

School officials said they are currently in communication with PECO to determine the estimated time for power restoration.
"However, given the circumstances, we have made the decision to close school for the day," officials said. "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this unexpected situation."

Officials were coordinating with the transportation department to arrange for buses to pick up students and return them home.
