McNamee, of Maple Glen, died May 5.

Raymond Wilson McNamee Jr., Ph.D., of Maple Glen, died Sunday, May 5. He was 78.

Born in Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of Raymond Sr. and Edith (Irwin) McNamee.

McNamee attended Northwestern University, served in the U.S. Navy and attended graduate school at the University of California at Berkley, getting his Ph.D. in chemistry.

McNamee was a long-standing member of Abington Presbyterian Church, serving in many ways.

McNamee is survived by his wife Ann; his daughter Grace Bruen; his son Keith; his daughter Nancy Woehrle; his brother Philip; and several grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Friday at Abington Presbyterian Church. Donations in McNamee’s name may be made to the Abington Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 1082 Old York Road, Abington 19001.

Arrangements are by Baron Rowland Funeral Home, Abington.
