Skimming Device Found At Cheltenham ATM
Cheltenham Police said the skimming device was found Monday at the ATM of the 7-11 convenience store on Easton Road.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A skimming device has been found on the ATM at the 7-11 convenience store on Easton Road, police said.
Cheltenham Police recovered the skimming device Monday from the ATM at the 7-11 at 250 S. Easton Road.
Police said 7-11 employees noticed the device and removed it at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The devices allow criminals to record information from the magnetic strip on a debit card and subsequently create a duplicate card, police said. The criminals also install a camera, which records when people enter PINs.
Similar skimming devices have been found at other locations throughout Montgomery County, police said.

Police said people should visually inspect an ATM for suspicious modifications before using it.
If it wiggles or seems loose, the police state that people should not swipe or insert their cards. They should notify the business and local law enforcement.
Also, they should cover up the keypad when entering the pin number and use contactless-enabled cards or phones for safe and easy payments by tapping your card or phone on a contactless-enabled payment terminal.
