ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Montgomery County Commissioners celebrated the Fourth of July by attending the annual Glenside parade, not just to take in the festivities.

County officials were also there to honor the fire companies that battled the SPS Technologies fire in February.

"When the SPS Technologies fire broke out on a cold night in February, firefighters from more than 70 companies answered the call — leaving their jobs, homes, and families — to keep us safe," county officials said in a statement. "Thanks to their bravery and skill, the blaze was contained without any serious injuries or fatalities."
