Get ready to view the 'sturgeon' full moon this Saturday and Sunday
Astronomy lovers will be able to see the 'sturgeon' full moon above our skies overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.

PENNSYLVANIA — Astronomy lovers rejoice.
This weekend, those who enjoy gazing at the night sky to see what lies beyond our world have an opportunity to catch a glimpse at a full moon, but not any full moon ... a 'sturgeon moon.'
The 'sturgeon moon' is named so because the full moon visible during the month of August typically coincided with sturgeon being most readily caught on the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.
