Valerie Lorraine McGhee, Instrumental in June Fete
McGhee, of Willow Grove, served on the Women's Board of Abington Health Foundation.

Valerie Lorraine McGhee died Friday, May 3 at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 65.
Born in Detroit, she was the daughter of Howard and Una Mae Jones. McGhee, of Willow Grove, attended Upper Moreland High School.
McGhee became a member of the Women’s Board of Abington Health Foundation in 2000 and most recently served as an officer. She served on many Women’s Board Committees, often taking the lead in chairing events. In 2002, she was chairwoman of the June Fete Village Fair and Horse and Pony Show.

McGhee is survived by her husband of 45 years, James H. McGhee; her son, Scott H. McGhee; her daughter, Heather L. Opferman; her mother, Una Mae Jones; her siblings, Diana Shemberger, Pamela Danneman, Gail Miller, Larry Jones, and Ginger Ader; and four grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Friday at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, Southampton.
