12 PA Schools Named Blue Ribbon Winners For 2024: See List

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona on Monday announced 356 schools as the 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools cohort, including 12 in Pennsylvania.

The prestigious recognition highlights schools that either excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups:

• Exemplary High Performing Schools are schools that are among the top performers in their state as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.
• Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools are schools that excel in narrowing achievement gaps between different student groups and the overall student body.

Here are the 12 schools in Pennsylvania that received the honor of being named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon school:

• Central High School, Philadelphia
• Connoquenessing Elementary School, Renfrew
• Dorseyville Middle School, Pittsburgh
• Economy Elementary School, Freedom
• Holy Family School, Phoenixville
• Marlborough Elementary School, Green Lane
• Mercer Area High School, Mercer
• Oakview Elementary School, Stoneboro
• Quaker Valley Middle School, Sewickley
• Richland Elementary School, Johnstown
• Saltsburg Elementary School, Saltsburg
• Springfield High School, Springfield
• West Hanover Elementary School, Harrisburg

In 2024, 316 public and 40 private schools were named Blue Ribbon schools.
