5 PA Events This Weekend: Mushroom Fest, Goats, Doylestown Arts Festival + More

PENNSYLVANIA — There's plenty to do in southeast Pennsylvania this weekend, with several well-loved festivals going on, and a few fun opportunities for kids.
Patch checked the calendar, and rounded up this selection of things to do this weekend (Sept. 9 and 10) in the greater Philadelphia area.
Doylestown Arts Festival returns (Bucks County)
- Dates: Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rain or shine.
- Location: Various streets in Doylestown Borough; click here for festival map.
- What's going on: More than 160 independent artists will line the streets of the town, and dozens of local and regional bands and entertainment acts that will perform across five outdoor stages as part of the two-day arts festival. (Read more on Patch.)

Pop in to the 38th Annual Mushroom Festival (Chester County)
- Dates: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain or shine.
- Location: Broad Street and State Street, Kennett Square, PA
- What's going on: Thousands of mushroom lovers from around the country pop up in the “Mushroom Capital of the World” for two days of fungi-related fun. The weekend promises mushroom-themed dishes, educational tidbits, competitions, and more. (Read more here)
- Tickets: $5 per person; cash only.
Goat snuggles and pick-your-own flowers (Montgomery County)
- Date: Saturday beginning at 4 p.m.
- Location: Rose Bridge Farm Sanctuary,
- Description: Pack your own picnic….
- Tickets: $19 for each Adults, $9 for kids over 2.
Dig into the past at an Archaeology Festival (Delaware County)
- Dates: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Location: Newlin Grist Mill , 219 South Cheyney Rd., Glen Mills, PA
- Description: This family-friendly event allows you to “discover the rich archaeological heritage that lies beneath our feet" with excavations, a "kids dig" and pottery assembly, and archaeology displays/exhibits. Food vendors will be there, too.
- Tickets: Free admission. Parking: $5 per car. A complimentary shuttle bus will be available to transport visitors between the event parking area and the Visitor Center.
Get your last jumps in at Big Bounce America (Philadelphia)
- Dates: Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Sunday is the last day in Philly.
- Location: Shelby Field, Admiral Peary Way, Philadelphia, PA
- Description: Play in four big inflatables include the 16,000-square-foot World’s Largest Bounce House; the Sport Slam featuring a customized sports arena; a more than 900-foot-long obstacle course named The Giant; and a space-themed wonderland called airSPACE. (Read more here.)
