Eagles Game Impacts

Snowfall is likely to start during the Eagles playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams in a NFC divisional-round playoff game starting at 3 p.m. that day.

Forecasters with FOX29 predict that tailgating will be snow-free, with light snow beginning to fall around kickoff. By the end of the game, expect snow to be falling more rapidly.

Bitter Cold Moves In

After the snow moves through, bitter cold temperatures will arrive and linger for the week.

Starting Sunday night through Wednesday, "dangerously" cold conditions will move in. Wind chills below 0 degrees are likely to lead to impacts for people, animals, and infrastructure, the Weather Service said.

"There will be an increased risk of hypothermia and frost bite. Impacts to infrastructure could include frozen pipes and increased demand for heating energy," the agency said in a Friday morning update.

Temperatures will fall "well below" freezing Sunday night, and remain below freezing until at least Friday, with the coldest period expected Monday night through Thursday morning.
