6 Killed In Labor Day Weekend Crashes Across Pennsylvania: State Police

Pennsylvania State Police said impaired driving was a factor in 64 crashes, two of which were fatal, from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1

PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania State Police released data on its Labor Day weekend enforcement, and authorities reported six fatalities over the holiday weekend.

State police investigated 747 crashes from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1.

Out of those crashes, 129 people were hurt, and six people were killed.

Impaired driving was a factor in 64 crashes, two of which were fatal.

State police were not able to provide municipal data for the fatal crashes.

Additionally, troopers made 535 driving under the influence of alcohol or drug arrests. They also issued 24,182 citations, including 6,860 for speeding, 776 for failing to wear a seatbelt, and 147 for child seat violations.
