Seven Pennsylvania towns are among the most "livable places" in the country, according to a new report.
PENNSYLVANIA – Seven Pennsylvania towns are among the most "livable places" in the country, according to a new report based on factors such as cost of living, lifestyle amenities and community spirit.
Apartment search website Rent Cafe recently compiled the 20 most livable metro areas, and seven in the Keystone State made the cut.
The report analyzed 139 metro areas across 17 different metrics using data from the American Community Survey, Census Bureau and USDA, among other sources.

Pittsburgh was the highest-ranked area in Pennsylvania included in the analysis.
The website notes that Pittsburgh stands out as a "socially active hub" with a higher-than-average number of college-educated residents. It notes that the city has steady income growth and a strong sense of community.

Harrisburg, which ranked in the top 10 overall, was highlighted for its "friendly vibe, beautiful scenic outdoors and growing economy."
The seven Pennsylvania metro areas that made the list include:
- Pittsburgh
- Harrisburg
- York
- Philadelphia
- Scranton
- Allentown
- Reading

Cities in the Midwest dominated the list, claiming nine of the top 20 spots, seven in the top 10 and four in the top five.
