'Arctic Outbreaks' Headed To PA, 2 Rounds Of Snow In Forecast
Several rounds of Arctic air are headed to the Eastern United States, bringing the potential for frigid temperatures and snow.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Several rounds of Arctic air are headed to the Eastern United States, bringing the potential for frigid temperatures and snow in the Philadelphia region.
AccuWeather predicts there will be at least three major blasts of Arctic air in the coming days and weeks. The first outbreak will be Friday and Saturday. The second blast can be expected mid-week next week, from Jan. 7-8. A third round is predicted on Jan. 11-12.
The first blast of Arctic air could bring snow to the Philadelphia region on both Friday and Monday, forecasters said. Low temperatures will dip to the 20s.

There's a slight chance the Philadelphia area will see a dusting of snow Friday night, but accumulation likely won't exceed an inch, the National Weather Service said.
Then on Monday, there will be another chance of snow. Early estimates say up to 4 inches of accumulation is possible, but more precise estimates will be released as the storm nears.

As frigid temperatures continue, AccuWeather says there's a chance of another winter storm late next week, which could bring snow and ice along the Atlantic coast. But it's too early for any solid details on that.
“This could end up being the coldest January since 2011 for the U.S. as a whole,” AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Expert Paul Pastelok said.
