Dazzling Displays Brighten Rainy Weekend At These Philly-Area Events

PENNSYLVANIA — December is here, bringing with it a variety of holiday-themed events and displays in southeast Pennsylvania. Patch took a look at the calendar to find some festive events this weekend, while keeping the forecast in mind.

Some showers are possible in the Philadelphia area on Saturday evening, with cloudy skies and mild temperatures during the day. Periods of rain are also possible on Sunday, and it will also be cloudy. So, we found some events to bring a bit more cheer to this first weekend in December that won't involve dodging raindrops.

Here's what's going on in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3:

Macy's Christmas Light Show

• Nov. 25 through Dec. 31. Show times are: Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sundays at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
• Free, though online reservations are required to go to Dickens Village and see Santa Claus.

Holiday Garden Railway at Morris Arboretum and Gardens

• "Nighttime Express" on weekend evenings from Nov. 26 through Dec. 22; or during the day with general admission.

LuminoCity at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center

• Nov. 17 through Jan. 15, Thursday-Monday (excluding holidays)

Shady Brook Farm Holiday Light Show

• Drive-through show open nightly Nov. 18 through Jan. 8
• Tickets: $30-$50 per car or $15-$23 for a wagon ride. Mini buses and limos priced higher.
