Juveniles Shot At PA State Police During 40 Mile Chase: Officials

The juveniles were wanted on charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer after firing rounds during a high-speed chase on I-81.

Two juveniles who authorities say fired shots at a Pennsylvania State Police officer while leading authorities on a 40-mile chase along I-81 have been arrested in Connecticut, according to the U.S. Marshals.

The juveniles were wanted on charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

According to information from the U.S. Marshals, the unidentified juveniles were pointing a gun at drivers on I-81 in Cumberland County before the high-speed chase ensued on Feb. 23.

When state police attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver led the officer on the chase, while occupants in the car fired rounds, authorities said.

The car became disabled near Saint Clair in Schuylkill County and troopers arrested two of the four occupants. The two others entered a nearby Walmart and changed into stolen clothing, according to the U.S. Marshals.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force and Hartford Police Department located and arrested the two juvenile fugitives on Thursday. Both were transported to the Hartford Police Department for booking.

Pennsylvania will be requesting extradition from Connecticut charging the juveniles with criminal attempt homicide, receiving stolen property, recklessly endangering another person, simple
assault, carrying a loaded weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor and aggravated assault, according to the U.S. Marshalls.
