Check Out These PA Festivals And Events For Labor Day Weekend 2023

Check out some highlights from the events calendar, as we reach the unofficial end of summer in Pennsylvania.

PENNSYLVANIA — Labor Day Weekend is here, marking the unofficial end of summer in Pennsylvania. For those who don't want the school-free days and long nights to end, you can still find a lot of summer fun this weekend in the Philadelphia area.

The 80th Annual Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show & Country Fair is this weekend in Chester County, and a popular Polish festival begins in Bucks County. It's also the last weekend for the Oval Pop-Up in Philly, and there are a number of other ways to kick off September.

Soak up the last days of summer at these events, concerts, and festivals in southeast Pennsylvania this weekend.

Oval Pop-up wraps up, Philly (Fri-Sat-Sun. )

There’s no “Made in America Festival” this year, but the Benjamin Franklin Parkway is still busy with the last weekend of The Oval pop-up festival - including food trucks, live performances, and games.

  • Fridays: 2 p.m.–11 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Sundays: 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

80th annual Horse Show and Country Fair, Chesco (Sat-Sun-Mon.)

Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show & Country Fair features food, inflatable rides, entertainment, and fun for the whole family. The cost is $10 per carload, and admission is free after 4 p.m. Food trucks and the Midway Beer Garden open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Chadds Ford Winery soiree, Delco (Sat-Sun)

The winery is having a summer send-off with live music, "elevated food truck fare," cocktails, and complimentary tastings of one of their wines. Admission is free with walk-in seating only.

Volkfest beer garden, Philly (Sat-Sun-Mon)

The 151st Volkfest is a Labor Day tradition in Northeast Philly. This three-day German festival at Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein features accordion music, food, and of course — bier!

Polish-American Family Festival and Country Fair, Bucks Co. (Sat-Sun-Mon)

The 57th Annual Polish-American Family Festival and Country Fair takes place throughout the long Labor Day weekend - Sept. 2, 3 and 4 - and continues September 9 and 10 from 12 to 8 p.m. at 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown (New Britain Township).

Throughout the five-day festival, the public is invited to celebrate traditional Polish culture with live entertainment, arts and crafts, re-enactments, ethnic foods, midway rides and more. (Read more on Patch.)
